Illuminate Gym has been working for the past month to get registered to sell franchises in the state of Michigan. Many people have thought that growing a business in the state of Michigan may be a tough task but at Illuminate Gym we feel there is a real opportunity for our franchise model to grow in Michigan because of all the real estate leverage we feel we have in the state. We also see large communities for people who really care about fitness in the state which is ideal for a franchise like Illuminate Gym. Illuminate Gym’s Newest Franchisee fought his way through Professional Boxing
DENVER—March, 3 2010—Illuminate gym, affordable personal training featuring unique High Oxygen Training (HOT), announced today that the Greenwood Village franchise unit will be run by Taj Leon, a former professional boxer.
Taj Leon spent most of his youth working out and training to be a professional boxer only to find that working out was his true passion. Today Taj Leon is only a month away from becoming the newest Illuminate Gym owner and he couldn’t be more excited and motivated. “I’ve worked inside of the Illuminate Gym model for over 3 years now and I feel that I have a great grasp on the business and I can’t wait to open up the first Illuminate Gym in Greenwood Village Colorado,” Taj said.
The question on everyone’s mind is why would a former professional boxer get into a personal training franchise rather than one of the many boxing franchises out there? “First of all I think that the most important part of creating success for clients is keeping their workouts new and fresh. I think a lot of boxing franchises fail in this regard while at Illuminate Gym I can incorporate weight training, cardiovascular training, Yoga and even boxing training into the ‘High Oxygen Training’ principles. Don’t get me wrong I definitely believe that boxing is a wonderful way to get in shape but I think it’s important that people have a well rounded workout regimen and I can provide that for my customers at Illuminate Gym,” Taj said.

Over the past six months Illuminate Gym has been in serious talks with multiple entrepreneurs in the Middle East about the possibility of bringing the Illuminate Gym concept and franchise opportunity to the region. Now there are a few varying veiws or rules of thumb when dealing in the franchise world. The first is if you can sell it?? Then sell it!!!! The other is to grow slowly and allow your brand and model to mature and then sell it more money. At Illuminate Gym we take a slightly different stance in that we believe that there is nothing wrong with growing into new regions like the Middle East as long as your infer structure is there, and we feel our franchise model is ready to move into international markets. So our philosophy differes from many of our competitors because selling a franchise is not enough to create a successful brand and franchise model. Building a successful franchise is creating an infer structure to ensure your franchise units become as successful as possible. Who cares about initial fees??? Yeah you just heard a franchise say they don’t care that much about the initial franchise fee. Of course there needs to be an initial franchise fee to cover the costs of a franchise but at Illuminate Gym we recognize that our franchise success is linked directly to the success of our franchisees.

Yesterday Illuminate Gym’s newest franchisee signed a Letter of Intent “LOI” on a new space in the Centennial, Colorado area. This will be the third Illuminate Gym franchise in Colorado and we couldn’t be more excited about the region we are moving into because we are sure the Illuminate Gym model has the potential to be a great success in the Saddle Rock, Colorado area.

It’s hard work preparing a franchisee to become a successful Illuminate Gym owner. However, when you see a franchisee ready to open a new facility it makes it all worth it. When I opened the first Illuminate Gym I remember how excited I was and to see that same energy from another individual is exactly why we organized Illuminate Gym as a fitness franchise. I would like to congratulate Anne and Rony on their new journey as business owners and we also look forward to assisting them to become as successful as they can. The other day I was sitting with a business mentor of mine and we began speaking about the illuminate gym franchise model. Now keep in mind that this business mentor is not involved with the franchise world in any way. We were comparing the illuminate gym model to a Snap Fitness that is closing up the road from us and an Anytime Fitness. This business mentor made it clear that our franchise models were completely different and we really weren’t selling the same type of franchise. My initial thought was that he was absolutely insane…. Of course we are selling the type of franchise as Snap Fitness or Anytime Fitness because we are all selling fitness franchises right????? I was wrong…. He was right. When you buy into a membership based gym (like Snap Fitness or Anytime Fitness) you are just buying a business that is based around your facility and marketing. You hope that people love your facility and they continue to come and pay their monthly dues. You also have to pray that a larger facility with more amenities doesn’t move into the neighborhood and doesn’t devastate your business. At illuminate gym our model is also based around our facility but at the end of the day the people inside of the illuminate gym are just as important if not more important than the actual facility. Our business model and franchise model at illuminate gym is based on human contact and interaction. We’re not looking to sell people on our facility and then run their credit card monthly even if they never come into our facility. Our money is made by having a hand in helping people achieve their fitness goals. Our franchise models are different because if you’re interested in the illuminate gym model you are interested in taking a hands on approach to helping people achieve more. You also are building a business around a bond created with your customers.

Sorry I haven’t been posting yet on the progress of illuminate gym. Things are progressing nicely as we move forward on our latest illuminate gym in Greenwood Village, Colorado. The space is looking outstanding as the demolition is all done and the electricians have finished all of their work. Right now we are just waiting for the painters to get our signature orange paint on the wall and then all of the exercise equipment arrives on Saturday.
illuminate gym is also currently looking for real estate in Saddle Rock, Colorado for a new location as our latest franchisee in the Colorado market begins their journey in owning their own illuminate gym.
