Earlier today Illuminate Gym had another commitment from a franchisee in Centennial, Colorado. Within the next few months Illuminate Gym should have 3 locations opened in the Colorado market. It’s hard work preparing a franchisee to become a successful Illuminate Gym owner. However, when you see a franchisee ready to open a new facility it makes it all worth it. When I opened the first Illuminate Gym I remember how excited I was and to see that same energy from another individual is exactly why we organized Illuminate Gym as a fitness franchise. I would like to congratulate Anne and Rony on their new journey as business owners and we also look forward to assisting them to become as successful as they can. Afterall, franchisors are only as successful as their franchisees. The newest Illuminate Gym is slated to open in Greenwood Village, Colorado on April 1, 2010. Today was a big day for our future franchisees in Greenwood Village, Colorado because the exercise equipment was delivered today. I personally just saw photographs of the newest Illuminate Gym and it looks incredible. We are very excited for our newest franchisees here in Colorado and we are looking forward to helping them accumulate as much success as possible. The other day I was sitting with a business mentor of mine and we began speaking about the illuminate gym franchise model. Now keep in mind that this business mentor is not involved with the franchise world in any way. We were comparing the illuminate gym model to a Snap Fitness that is closing up the road from us and an Anytime Fitness. This business mentor made it clear that our franchise models were completely different and we really weren’t selling the same type of franchise. My initial thought was that he was absolutely insane…. Of course we are selling the type of franchise as Snap Fitness or Anytime Fitness because we are all selling fitness franchises right????? I was wrong…. He was right. When you buy into a membership based gym (like Snap Fitness or Anytime Fitness) you are just buying a business that is based around your facility and marketing. You hope that people love your facility and they continue to come and pay their monthly dues. You also have to pray that a larger facility with more amenities doesn’t move into the neighborhood and doesn’t devastate your business. At illuminate gym our model is also based around our facility but at the end of the day the people inside of the illuminate gym are just as important if not more important than the actual facility. Our business model and franchise model at illuminate gym is based on human contact and interaction. We’re not looking to sell people on our facility and then run their credit card monthly even if they never come into our facility. Our money is made by having a hand in helping people achieve their fitness goals. Our franchise models are different because if you’re interested in the illuminate gym model you are interested in taking a hands on approach to helping people achieve more. You also are building a business around a bond created with your customers.

Over the past year a lot of perspective franchisees have been interested in taking a closer look at illuminate gym before they commit to becoming a part of our exciting franchise opportunity. This is completely understandable as illuminate gym offers a different kind of fitness experience compared to our competitors in the fitness industry. Sorry I haven’t been posting yet on the progress of illuminate gym. Things are progressing nicely as we move forward on our latest illuminate gym in Greenwood Village, Colorado. The space is looking outstanding as the demolition is all done and the electricians have finished all of their work. Right now we are just waiting for the painters to get our signature orange paint on the wall and then all of the exercise equipment arrives on Saturday.
illuminate gym is also currently looking for real estate in Saddle Rock, Colorado for a new location as our latest franchisee in the Colorado market begins their journey in owning their own illuminate gym. As far as the illuminate gym in Greenwood Village, Colorado is concerned we couldn’t be more excited for Taj and Anne’s success in the fitness industry. Since the beginning of the year it seems the illuminate gym concept has taken off in the mind of perspective franchisees. Currently, we are working on the Greenwood Village illuminate gym and we are nearing a deal in Centennial, Colorado as well. Within the year we are hopeful here at illuminate gym that we will have 4 locations in the state and open in at least 2 new markets across the country. The build-out is underway on the newest illuminate gym in Greenwood Village, Colorado. We have also been busy building a new website to represent our latest franchisee at greenwoodvillage.illuminategym.com. This website will be the first of its kind and all future franchise locations will have their own independent web page just like greenwoodvillage.illuminategym.com has. After lease negotiations end and contractors make their plans it’s time to watch as another illuminate gym comes to life. Yesterday the build-out began in Greenwood Village slowly as construction workers started to pull electricity from walls that will eventually fall and exercise equipment started to make its way into the gym for our future franchisees. Over the next few weeks we’re excited to see what this illuminate gym will look like as we on our end continue to try and push clients from Greenwood Village into the facility. We are also in the process of looking for personal trainers and yoga instructors to ensure that future clients get the best service in the fitness industry possible. What started as a vision and grew out of a garage and into a space on Colorado Boulevard is changing directions drastically. We started as a gym called Sunshine with a core group of personal trainers and a following of a group of individuals that always be dear to me. Over the past few months business has changed drastically for myself as my responsibilities begin to be spread beyond the clients in our small boutique gym on Colorado and 7th Avenue. Today the build-out began on a new space that will carry the illuminate gym name in Greenwood Village, Colorado. It is my responsibility to make sure I give this new entrepreneur the best opportunity I can to succeed as I have in owning their own fitness facility.
With this change I look out over an illuminate gym with new faces, new personal trainers, and a new direction. I’m proud of the group of people who continue to help our small little gym grow into more as we continue to speak with perspective franchisees across the country and even beyond. There is no telling what the future holds for any of us but I am proud of all the hard work and dedication that continues to poor into illuminate gym. And though we’ve changed names, and seen personal trainers come and go our simple mission has always stayed true. We provide a service at the best value anywhere and unlike many other fitness facilities in these tough economic times we are here to stay.
As for our next franchisee he has been by my side for years and it will be tough to watch Taj go, but I know it’s also his time to grow as well. Growing and changing, even for the better, is always a hard thing to handle, but in my mind the vision I had years ago is starting to take shape and I’m excitied to see where we go from here.
