When you own a gym like Illuminate Gym you find that when employing personal trainers and working with customers on their weight training goals that steroids is always on the forefront of people’s minds.  Sometimes personal trainers abuse the substance in order to keep up a ’so called’ appearance of being a personal trainer and sometimes perspective clients walk into Illuminate Gym looking for the illegal substances.  It’s important to  know that at Illuminate Gym we are committed to helping people live healthy lives and we do not condone the use of illegal steroids by personal trainers or personal training clients.  Earlier this week we had a perspective customer walk into Illuminate Gym and ask if we could help him get steroids.  This is not the first time I have heard or personally been asked this question however, this time it was a 16 year old kid looking to improve upon his high school career.  This is a dangerous development and one that can’t be ignored.  The young man told me that many of his fellow teammates were using the illegal substances and that their performance in the weight room and on the field was leaving him behind.  So he felt with the help of a knowledgeable personal trainer and steroids that he could maximize his results and hopefully parlay this into a collegiate football career.  As a certified personal trainer and a gym owner I know what it takes to build muscle and gain strength however, steroids do offer a real short cut to young people but at a huge cost to their long term health.  I wouldn’t usually write a blog like this on our franchise site however, after hearing the news of the Houston Texans Brian Cushing who was busted using HCG last year during his Rookie of the year season it’s hard to argue with a young high school athlete.  These young players look up to guys like Brian Cushing and he’s cheating to maximize his abilities on the football field and he’s not alone.  Brian Cushing has released a statement saying that he did not use a steroid.  However, anyone who has ever been around the bodybuilding world is well aware that HCG is used by men after they get off of steroids to boost their natural testosterone up.  In other words, I would bet you a million dollars that Brian Cushing had just finished up a substantial cycles of steroids before he was tested.
