lluminate Gym looks into the nutritional values of its customers, as working out is just not enough. Many trainers who start working for Illuminate Gym work at facilities and on personal training programs where nutrition is not considered to be an important part of a clients’ training. Trust me we have a heard a million times from trainers.
‘That’s not my job; I’m a personal trainer not a nutritionist. I’ll show them how to work out period,’ says the trainer.
There may be some truth in that statement from the personal trainer however, at Illuminate Gym our success is truly based on the success of our customers in the way they feel, look and view their newfound life after beginning a workout regimen at Illuminate Gym. How can we really transform someone’s life through fitness if we don’t help them with their nutrition is the question that has to be answered. Now it’s true that some of our clients are not interested in Illuminate Gym staff members to get involved with their lives outside of the gym. However, for those who are open to this guidance we feel it is imperative that we help them succeed in anyway we can and that includes nutrition. It’s really a simple numbers game when you really get down to it because 95% of our customers at Illuminate Gym are looking to lose weight. So if you believe 70% of losing weight is purely diet then whey wouldn’t we have our personal trainers at all of our franchise locations help our clients with their diets? That’s why at Illuminate Gym we are committed to answering questions about people’s diets to not only give our customers the best chance for success, but also to build a strong repoure with our customers that’s based on a trust of our personal training staff’s knowledge and wisdom as it pertains to not only working out but also to diet and a healthier lifestyle overall.
If your personal trainer is not willing to speak to you about nutrition at all then they are not helping you as much as they possibly could, It’s true a lot of personal trainers at Illuminate Gym or anywhere for that matter, are not certified nutritionists, but they are in the business of helping people achieve their fitness goals which always incorporates diet and nutrition. It doesn’t matter if a person hires a personal trainer to help them build muscle or to lose weight their results will hinge not only on their workouts, but also on their nutrition. That’s why Illuminate Gym is committed to helping our customers with their nutritional needs.

I see so many fitness franchises popping up around the country and they are missing the boat on what is really going on in the fitness franchise world and really the fitness industry as whole. You see the thing is that fitness is not the greatest issue facing Americans. Don’t get me wrong fitness should a major concern of all Americans because it is a severe issue. However, the biggest issue facing our nation’s health is what we are putting in our mouths. We have found at our Illuminate Gym franchise locations that a little focus to nutrition with our customers can make all the difference in the world. The truth of the matter is we only see most of our customers for a few hours a week and unfortunately, we can’t be the voice of reason when our clients see that fast-food franchise as they drive down the street or be the stop sign as they make their way down the doughnut isle at the grocery store. However, at Illuminate Gym Franchise Development we are committed to at least educating our clientele about the basics of nutrition and how to lose and keep the weight off.
This is one of the basic aspects of the Illuminate Gym Franchise model that separates us from our competitors. Today many fitness franchises believe that key to success is in larger group training settings. However, at Illuminate Gym Franchise Development we believe the real success of a fitness franchise concept lies in getting results for your customers. Fitness franchises shouldn’t just be about gathering money or else they will undoubtedly fail. Fitness franchises that will stand the test of time will be fitness franchise concepts that make a difference in changing their customers’ lives. Thanks so much for reading the blog here at www.illuminategym.com. You can also check out more fitness franchise and gym franchise news at www.gymfranchises.net. Thanks and have a healthy day!

So according to MSN yesterday Americans are consuming more hamburgers then they ever have before! A new poll is not stating that over 48% of Americans polled eat a hamburger at least once a week. In 2009 only 38% of people polled ate one hamburger a week. This number is really staggering to us here at Illuminate Gym Franchise Development because I never would have guessed the number was that high. According to the article there are two major factors that are causing this increase in hamburger consumption across the nation. The first is that there has been an increase in the new ‘better-burger’ restaurants that have started to make their mark on the restaurant industry in America, and by the way fast-food burger joints are not losing any business. The second variable is the price point of the burger is still good in a failing economy. Let’s face it hamburgers are filling and they are very inexpensive.
Here at Illuminate Gym Franchise Development these are the exact sort of numbers that stand in the way of America becoming more fit. The hamburger is a food item we have spoken about multiple times here at www.illuminategym.com and wwwgymfranchises.net because it can become one of the worst foods for you because of the mixture of simple carbohydrates (in the bun) and saturated fats (in the burger itself). At Illuminate Gym our franchise owners and personal trainers strive to keep our clients away from this type of food. There are healthier foods out there that are also inexpensive. Make healthy decisions and please if you are interested in a gym franchise, a fitness franchise or a personal training franchise then please contact us here at Illuminate Gym Franchise Development.

Many experts say that the newest generation of Americans has a lower life expectancy than the generation before. This is the first time this hypothesis has been made and it’s not because of war or even over population. It’s because we’re getting fat and out of shape. People in the United States and around the world have watched as their activity level has continued to decline while their eating habits have become worse. It is my theory that people have no idea how much activity they need in a day and they certainly have no idea how to eat correctly. Now according to most health experts and doctors each person needs to be active at least 20 minutes of every day to be considered healthy. I think we all know that 20 minutes does not sound like that great of a investment in time however, many people are having issues keeping up with even this time commitment to their personal fitness. Outside of activity level the biggest issue facing our newer generations is their eating habits. As a fitness franchise our personal trainers at all of our Illuminate Gym franchise locations struggle with their customers’ diets because the success of our fitness franchise model largely rests on the success of our personal trainers getting their customers results. However, no matter how hard a client works out at an Illuminate Gym franchise location it’s impossible to provide results if our customers continue to eat poorly. The two major issues we see with our customers at Illuminate Gym are listed below:
1. People really have no idea what they are putting into their mouths. How much sugar? How much fat? How much saturated fat? How much sodium? and How many Calories? People really have no idea what they are eating. Shocking!!!
2. Portion Control. It’s really hard to know how to control your portions if you have no idea what a portion of the food you are eating is. ’Too much of a bad thing is in fact not good’
Thanks so much for reading the blog here at www.illuminategym.com. Please keep coming back and checking us out here or at www.gymfranchises.net to read more about the fitness franchise industry and specifically Illuminate Gym Franchise Development.

For years people have always preached that people should consume protein and eat after their workout with weights. Now as a fitness franchise CEO and personal trainer I do believe that eating after your workout as apposed to before your workout is important because your body is still in the calorie burning mode. That being said I don’t believe that you absolutely have to eat protein right after a workout. The reason I say this is because though it is absolutely true that protein and amino acids aid in the building/rebuilding of muscle tissue it doesn’t necessarily have to be consumed right after a workout. This is true because it takes quite a bit of time for the human body to break down proteins in the stomach. Hence why protein has a higher metabolic rate than sugars or simple carbohydrates.
It’s our believe here at Illuminate Gym Franchise Development that this idea of consuming protein right after a workout was another idea that supplement companies have planted inside of our heads. Now don’t get me wrong we sell a lot of supplements at Illuminate Gym and I myself drink protein on a daily basis. However, to think that in some way protein drank right after a workout somehow assimilates into your system immediately is ridiculous. If you’re doing a resistance training workout regimen I definitely recommend consuming complete proteins (complete proteins = proteins along with the appropriate amino acids to deliver the protein to your body). However, if you are unable to get a protein shake after your workout don’t feel bad just make sure you eat enough protein throughout the day. On that front I don’t believe that it’s necessary to consume a gram of protein for every pound you weigh. In fact, I think it’s over-kill. You should try and consume at least 1/2 of your lean mass weight.
Thanks so much for checking out the blog here at www.illuminategym.com. Keep checking back here to read about all of our exciting fitness franchise news and tips on both nutrition and working out.

Illuminate Gym is now meeting with clients the day after another candy filled holiday. As a fitness franchise we always forget about Valentine’s Day every year without fail. Once we get through all of the holiday eating and drinking of Thanksgiving and Christmas we think we are home free with all of our Yoga students and personal training clients. However, we couldn’t be further from the truth. Of course New Year’s Eve usually rears its head in the way of drinking calories from alcohol and then of course we find ourselves a month later here to Valentine’s Day.
As a fitness franchise we always find ourselves cringing when people find excuses to eat poorly. Valentine’s Day is another perfect example of a holiday when people allow themselves to forget about their diets to consume mass amounts of chocolate and candies from their loved ones. The candy companies are jumping for joy as the words ’sugar’ and ‘carbohydrates’ are no longer considered bad words in fact, people expect them. If you don’t receive chocolates on Valentine’s Day then nobody loves you….. right?
Hopefully you kept your Valentine’s Day candy consumption to a minimum this Valentine’s Day! Also thanks so much for coming to www.illuminategym.com to read all about the hottest personal training franchise in the country. Illuminate Gym Franchise Development is committed to creating financial success for our fitness franchise owners through making our communities healthy one client at a time. Thanks so much for reading and have a healthy day!

Here in Denver, Colorado our original fitness franchise receives the question a lot about food. How can so many Asian countries theoretically eat so much rice, yet they are not getting fat? We have discussed this issue before at Illuminate Gym Franchise Development but the question keeps coming up and it’s a great question. When did carbohydrates like white rice become the devil anyway?
Here at Illuminate Gym we are not only a fitness franchise because we also help our clients with their nutrition needs. Illuminate Gym Franchise Development is committed to helping people through fitness, personal training, Yoga and nutrition. That all being said the question at hand is when did rice become so bad to eat and how come Asian countries eat so much of it, yet they some how stay healthy. The answer is easy here in America we at way too much. We also have a horrible habit of combining both carbohydrates like rice and saturated fats. An example of this way to eat a poor meal is when we pile our white rice high and then we cover it with a deep fried piece of chicken that is doused in a sugar based citrus sauce. Think of Panda Express at the malls as this fast-food mall franchise offers some of the most unhealthy meals in America. So it’s important to remember as someone who is focused to get fit, that it’s not the rice that posed the problem to us in America it’s our portion sizes, what we eat with the rice and our activity level.

Here is a thought for you to ponder from Illuminate Gym Franchise Development. Over the past 2 weeks we have been watching as individuals in need of help have been pouring into our Illuminate Gym Franchise locations in need of personal training, and nutritional advice to lose those pounds that they have gained over 2010 and especially over the holiday. The question is what to all of these new clients have in common except that they want to get a bit more fit. The question is important to a fitness franchise like Illuminate Gym because we need to understand our customers’ lifestyles in order to actually help them to a healthier tomorrow. So again what is the commonality of these personal training clients at our Illuminate Gym franchise locations? The answer is simple most of our clients sit behind a desk and a computer for most of their lives. America has become more sedentary than ever because as our nation has moved away from producing goods we have turned to living behind computers and existing in the very cyber world that I am bogging in right at this moment. Face it America computers have made a lot of things easier in our lives but it’s also making us fat. Our computers can be blamed partially for the obesity in America. Get up from that computer and start moving or that computer may just shave some years off of your life.
Thanks so much for reading the ‘Franchise with us’ Blog here at www.illuminategym.com. Please come back to read all of our exciting fitness franchise news. Also be sure to check out www.gymfranchises.net to read about our personal training franchise opportunity and some other fitness and nutrition tips. Have a healthy day and get away from the computer!
